The portion is vast. How did you revise?
I started going over the class notes and formulae the day before the exams, especially those portions which I felt was very important, and those with important formulae, tables, figures, etc, and prayed!

Make short notes of every lesson you learn.Believe me,youll have no time to read the entire txt or notes during the final months.

I studied the chapters according to the class.. was upto date.. actually forgot almost everything when exams were close... bt the 2 months of planned revision and mock tests provided by our institution before entrance got everything back in the head.. or atleast what was needed...lol

Revision is very important according to me. Maybe you did such a huge in-depth study of a chapter in September. When you open it again in March, maybe even in January, you will find it completely new. You think you never studied that much.
After reading through some articles, I learnt that we tend to forget things we study and the percentage of it remembered reduces as days pass. I revised whenever exams came, made stories that I remembered at times and also a few days before the exam, I did one last revision.
I came across the following revision schedule in a book, I haven't tried it fully but I think it works:-
Suppose you studied a topic on Aug 1st,
Revise it again on Aug 2nd, (ie, after one day)
Then revise it again on Aug 8th, (ie, after one week)
Then again on Aug 15th, (ie, after two weeks)
Then again on Sept 1st, Oct 1st and so on, (ie, every month henceforth).

I still dont know how.Probably the indepth knowledge and understanding and some shortcuts rather than mugging up facts helped me clear the exam in flying colours.

Emphazisd on solving MCQs rather than juz learning theory.Created short notes for basic concepts,Used 'stickers' nd mental imaging to help memorize formulas and steps of processes.

I just made separate notebooks for each subject and I used to note down all the important topic which I am frequently forgetting .On exam eve I just read that books only. Be sure that u are not making lengthy notes.

After completing each chapters i had managed to prepare a summary chit during my revisions. During the last day i just went through that + last year paper. This helped me not to get tensed during the eleventh hour.

I had prepared my own shortnotes... So i just read it.

Almost all schools and institutions wind up the classes by November . Use the time left by learning from the beginning then concentrate on the difficult topics each time testing your progress either through test papers given by institutes or by solving previous year questions . You will always feel inadequately prepared on D –day but nothing can be done on that day except pray and be confident in yourself . I divided my portion into smaller sections. The easy ones , the okay ones , and the difficult ones and used my time accordingly.
